New to CVS? This page will help you get started!
First you will want to go to a local CVS store and sign up for the ExtraCare card. It is free and tracks your spending and ExtraCare Bucks. You will also want to go online to CVS.com and set up an account to register your ExtraCare Card.
Each week CVS has an ad in the weekend paper. Some things will be on sale, other things will earn you ExtraCare Bucks, or ECBs. If you purchase an item that has an ECB value attached to it, your ECB will print out at the bottom of your receipt to use on your next order. These are just like cash, and can only be used at CVS. They cannot be used on alcohol, or prescriptions though, but all other merchandise is up for grabs. They do expire so make sure to use them before that time. It is usually a 30 day window. If you lose your receipt and your ECBs, you can log in to your account online and print them out to use in the store.
ECB deals typically following one of these patterns:
Receive $__ ECBs when you buy a certain item
Receive $__ ECBs when you buy 2 certain items
Receive $__ ECBs when you spend $__ on these certain items.
Coupons at CVS:
I have not found an official CVS coupon policy on their website. But from shopping there I have gathered some information on couponing there.
- CVS takes manufacturers coupons.
- CVS takes CVS store coupons.
- You can stack a CVS store coupon and a manufacturer coupon for the same item.
- B1G1 manufacturers coupons may be used with a $ off manufacturers coupon.
- B1G1 manufacturers coupons may be used with a B1G1 sale at CVS. If the sale is B1G1 Free and the coupon is B1G1 Free, you will get both items FREE! The store pays for one item and the manufacturer pays for the other. Netting you 4 freebies.
- Manufacturers coupons can be used on all items that have an ECB value attached to them.
- As long as you spend/ buy the required amount/ item for the ECB deal, you still get the ECB regardless of what you pay out of pocket. For example, if you need to spend $25 to get a $10 ECB on a variety of items, as long as your total before coupons is at least $25 then you will still get your $10 ECB even if your coupons bring your total out of pocket expense down below $25.
- If you have a coupon for a free product and it has an ECB value attached you will get the item free, plus still get the ECBs for purchasing that item.
CVS Coupon Machine:
There is a red coupon machine at each CVS store. You can scan your ExtraCare card there and CVS store coupons will print out. Sometimes these are CVS coupons for a specific item, other times they are coupons for a certain dollar amount off your purchase. An example would be $3 off a purchase of $15 or more. If you present this coupon before any manufactures coupons you will get the dollar amount off at the top of the order and be able to save more that way.
